This scripture touched me, and I felt compelled to share it.
Jarom 1:11 Wherefore, the prophets, and the priests, and the teachers, did labor diligently, exhorting with all long-suffering the people to diligence; teaching the law of Moses, and the intent for which it was given; persuading them to look forward unto the Messiah, and believe in him to come as though he already was. And after this manner did they teach them.
Escpecially the last part: “…and believe in him to come as though he already was.” How often do we yearn for promised blessings, impatient with the Lord’s time table. This scripture teaches us that we can receive comfort and assurance of blessings if we can have the faith to believe in His promises. And although this scripture is specifically about the atonement of Christ, I believe it can be applied to any of God’s promised blessings. If we can but look forward with the eye of faith as if the blessings already were.
